Chloe stares down at him and puffs out a small breath. She doesn't really want to move, as if she is worried pulling her body away from him will make him evaporate, but her knees are starting to hurt and she is, legitimately, thirsty.

"Come on," she says, finally pushing herself off of him. "I'll get the drinks. You get in bed."

By the time she meets up with him in the bedroom, armed with a glass of wine in one hand and a glass of water in the other, her bearings are mostly back. She takes a sip of the wine before passing the glass to him and setting the other water glass on the table, just in case they need to actually hydrate at some point, and then slips into the bed next to him. It takes her a moment to settle into him, curving her naked body against his and burying her nose into his shoulder.

"So..." she says, unable to stop herself. "Where have you been all this time?"

His hands don't move away from her until she stands up. Just slowly letting the pads of his fingers drag along her skin as if savoring what could be the last touch he has.

Rising with a groan, kicking his clothes to one side as the best effort he's making in cleaning things up for now and pads towards the back of her place.

When she comes to the door, he's laid out on the left side of the bed, the blankets pulled back in case and looking at home and comfortable for a naked criminal in a cop's bed.

Taking the glass, enjoying a sip of it as he settled back against the headboard, arm out to invite her into the crook of his arm.

"Wait, wait, afterglow and contentment," he complained with a soft whine, though he's smiling. "Literally I've mostly been in Texas, taking care of a few things. Ditched my brother there, so eventually my phone may start ringing. Or would if I hadn't turned it off."

Which might well say something about how much he wants to be here with her.

"Eventually he may sniff me out. Or until you throw me out and maybe I'll call him then."

It is a neat sidestep of details about what he's been up to but not closing off from her either.

Chloe knows well enough not to push too hard. It's something she's good at; she's smart, after all, and she can make sense of most situations pretty easily with minimal information. It's part of what makes her a good cop.

It's also part of what causes most of her interpersonal problems. She knows how to keep digging, but she also knows full well when to stop before she finds something she doesn't want to. If she doesn't find it, well, then she doesn't have to deal with it.

"I guess we'll see if I get sick of you before your brother gets fed up with doing things without you."

Things. It's waved off vaguely, but knowingly.

"You drove all the way out here from Texas? Just to see me?"

Somewhere in the back of his mind, there's a voice pointing out to him that this is nuts. Attachment to anyone is a bad idea. Attachment to a cop is suicide.

Yet there he is, moving in closer to nuzzle at her shoulder lightly as he smiles.

"Well, that and annoying Richie. We can blame him." Because stupid humor is better than facing the truth. That he wanted to see her that badly. Of course, he has given her not only his name, but his brother as well, which would give her all she needed to know to track down their story.

And he'd given that to her, trusting her with it. Which scares the hell out of him, if he's honest.

Chloe curls into him, taking his hand and weaving their fingers together. Never in her life has she done something that is so completely not her and yet, feels so completely right. The idea scares her, too, largely because she's not sure if she knows how to do casual sex with someone she might never see again. Of course, she thought that about him the first time, and yet, here they are.

"He's not here to defend himself so that seems unfair," she teases. "I hope he gives it some time until he tracks you down. He can share you a little."

They both know he needs to gone before Trixie comes back, anyway; Chloe would never risk introducing her daughter to whatever was happening here. The casual sex, not to mention whatever it is that Seth does that she doesn't want to really know about. Still, she squeezes his hand gently, an assurance that whatever he tells her won't be used against him.

That was definitely a welcome touch, enjoying the way she feels against him, the intimacy of holding hands as they were. He has never shared anything like this with another, and enjoying the sensation of it. All of it. Being here with her, and how nice it feels being close to her. In so many ways.

"If you're going to play fair, I'm not sure I can work with that," he chuckles, giving her hand a squeeze. "But I'm sure we've got some time. May even make it until you need me to make myself scarce," he admits, showing what he is hoping for, at least. "If he shows up before then, just lie. If you can," he teases.

"Hey, I can lie," she says, unconvincingly. Chloe is a far better actress than she gives herself credit, and she can sell herself undercover in a pinch, but he is right about lying. It's not something she likes to do. She suspects the same isn't true for him, though, but she's not going to put too much thought into it. Having him here, in her room, in her bed, kissing him and holding him... That's something.

Actually trusting him is a whole other can of worms she has no interest in wedging open.

"I'll tell him you, I don't know, went off to the store for some bread, or that you wanted to sight see in Hollywood. That'll keep him busy for a while."

He can't help but to laugh, because she isn't even good with that lie. Of course that may be because he's such an experienced liar, he knows what to look for.

Trust is something that Seth is not good with. That he is there though, for him, is a lot of trust he rarely gives to others. He's giving it to her now, and he knows it's a huge step. Even if it doesn't seem that big of a deal. At least to others.

Again he laughs, tugging at her hand to pull her to him and give her another kiss. "You're delightful. I'll give you that." Mostly because he can imagine Richie's face if someone told him something like that.

"People have called me a lot of things, but I don't think I've ever heard delightful."

If anything, Chloe always considered herself fairly uninteresting. She's not even really sure what magnetized Seth to her in the first place. The fact that he came back for her, that he even gave thought to her after their previous hook up, is still something she's having trouble wrapping her mind around.

"In that case, if he shows up, I can just shoot him."

Seth mockingly gasps at that, eyes going wide. "You? You Detective Decker, you would shoot a dangerous and hardened criminal in your own house?"

He tries hard to hold the expression, suddenly grinning because he can't just keep that look.

"See, this is why I like you," he admits, smirking. And not because he entirely thinks she's joking. He's pretty sure she is, but if she's not. So be it. "Just miss any vital organs, okay?"
