She never imagined him saying them, either, much less to her. It's still a little surreal but it also feels right, more right than any relationship she's ever had before. It scares her, a little, that one day they will go home and she might never feel like this again.

For now, though, she's with him, and that's all she wants to think about. Her fingers move to brush through his hair. "Any chance you're in the mood to love me right now?" she asked, her mouth curving into a playful smile.

Do you even know him, Chloe. What kind of question is that.

He's still got a lot to work on when it comes to expressing things with words, but he's had plenty of practice at expressing them with actions, even if she didn't know he was doing it. This time is no different. It's his turn to kiss her, but not long and slow like last time. This kiss is full of hunger, specifically for her.

"What do you think?"

Her eyes flutter shut as she kisses him back with the same amount of need. She can feel her heart quicken in her chest and lets out a small, disappointed whimper when he pulls away to speak.

"I guess it was a stupid question," she replies, almost meekly. Chloe pushes herself up, swinging one leg over him so she can straddle his waist and falling back into him, her lips seeking his once again.

That makes it easier to reach all the things he wants to reach, so that helps. Not that he usually has a problem with that.

He has no reply to that, doesn't really think he needs one, and his mouth is occupied, anyway. So he'll let his hands do the talking, as they slowly trail up the sides of her body to cup her breasts.

Chloe raises her own hands to cup his cheeks as she kisses him, moaning into his mouth as she feels his hands against her skin. Her mouth travels down his cheek to his jaw, planting playful kisses as she moves along. She sucks at the sensitive skin on his neck and rocks her hips back against his gently.

He tweaks her nipples with his thumbs and then allows his eyes to close so that he can enjoy her -- not knowing where he'll feel her next, and his hands wandering where they will without direction. Down her body, one hand coming to rest on her thigh, the other one starting to wander back up.

Her mouth pauses as his hands pass over her and a moan vibrates in the back of her throat. Chloe loves this part - the way his body fits so perfectly against hers, the way he explores every part of her like he has never touched her before. It's the few moments she can truly let the rest of the world fall away and just let it become this, just the two of them, the feel of his breath against her skin, the way his heart flutters in his chest when she presses her palm to it.

She rocks her hips against him again, letting out another moan as the most sensitive part of her body makes contact with his. Pleasure shoots like a jolt of electricity up her spine and she submits to it, letting everything else fall away. Chloe spends too much time missing what is out of reach, and not nearly enough appreciating what is right under her touch.

He'll teach her, then, how to recognize what she wants, and ask for it, and enjoy it. He's had thousands of years of practice at it, and it's what he has to offer. He can't give her everything she wants, but he'll do what he can. It's who he is.

Starting right now. As much as he wants her -- and it's obvious that he does, with the way he touches her and reacts to her -- she asked for this and he'll let her ask for the rest of it.

For the next few moments, it's good enough just to feel his hands against her, to move her lips against his and feel the heat of his breath. It's good enough for a little while, anyway, but she can feel herself hungering for more, and since he isn't pushing it along, she gets the message pretty quickly.

"Lucifer..." she murmurs, finally pulling away from him. Chloe slips off his lap, laying down in the bed and pulling gently on his shoulder to get him to move on top of her. She needs to feel his weight on her, to feel completely encompassed in all of him.

It's not hard to know what she wants, and he follows her. He gives her another kiss, long and slow this time, while one hand presses her legs open. His free hand reaches for hers and twines their fingers together, then he slips inside her. His other hand comes to rest on the bed next to her as he nips at her earlobe. "Is that what you wanted?"

Chloe sighs, her head falling back against the pillow and her eyes fluttering shut as he settles against her. This is exactly what she wanted. Her fingers curl tight around his and she opens her eyes to gaze up at him, her lips parted ever so slightly as she breathes.

"Yeah," she tells him, wrapping her free hand around his forearm tightly, her fingers digging into his skin. She usually knows what to say to him, always ready with a snappy remark or quick come-back, but it's times like this when she finds herself at a loss for words. It's hard to find the right ones. But she tries to manage. "I love how you make me feel, when we're like this."

She doesn't need words to tell him anything, not right now. He knows that she wouldn't be here if she didn't want it, and after so much time of things getting in the way for them, that's all he needs to know.

He nips at her earlobe again. "It's always been for you." Everything he's done, since they met, has been for her somehow.

He starts a slow rocking of his hips against hers. He's in no hurry to finish this, not at the moment, instead preferring just to enjoy the feeling of the two of them together.

Chloe meant it when she said she didn't believe in luck or fate. At least, she meant it when she said it. Now, since things have changed, she often wonders what else she never believed in before could be true. She's still not sure if she believes in love at first sight but, if she has to be honest, she can't pinpoint the moment she fell in love with him. She can't even pinpoint the moment she realized she was in love with him. Whenever she rifles through those memories of the last couple of years, all she can really remember is that there was always a feeling there, constant and nagging, unrepentant, undefinable. But she's sure she's never loved him less than she does right now, and is all the more sure that it would be impossible to ever love him more. And maybe that's all that love at first sight even is - just the understanding that, once you love a person, it's impossible to remember a time when you didn't.

"I know," she whispers, moving her hand to brush her fingers through his hair. She shifts her own hips up to meet his, at his same leisurely pace, her head rolling to the side to give him the freedom to nip and kiss wherever he can reach. "Everything I have, here, is for you, too."

He has a better idea of when it all started, although he hadn't known that's what it was at the time. How could he, when he'd forgotten was love was? What he'd once had hadn't been anywhere near the kind of love he feels for Chloe now, either.

With his new clarity and understanding of the situation, it's obvious to him now that he had started to fall in love with her not long after they met, although he'd had no idea. She'd made him vulnerable almost from the start, and he doesn't mind it now.

He takes full advantage of all the skin he can reach, leaving a gentle bite here, a kiss there. As he gets closer to release, the speed and intensity of his movements increase -- but not too much. He wants her to get there first. She should know what satisfaction feels like.

She starts to moan a little louder when his movements get faster, her grasp on him tightening. She can never deny he is good at this, better than anyone she's been with before, obviously, but that could be chalked up to experience for the most part. As much as she hates to think about it, Lucifer has plenty of experience. But she knows it's not just that. Sometimes, he sucks with words. But for someone who spent as long as he has not knowing how to love someone, he certainly can show it when it counts.

It doesn't take too long, her moans fading and stifling into desperate breaths as her climax rushes through her. At least she's managed to train certain turns of phrase out of her vocabulary during these specific moments which tends to keep her quiet besides when she gently moans his name, allowing him to reign entirely over her body and mind. Chloe still keeps moving, though, knowing that he hasn't reached that point and encouraging him to follow not far behind.

He knows her, too, her body, and figured out a long time ago all the things she likes. Even the ones she hadn't known until he discovered them. And he continues to show her how he feels about her by finding them all over again.

He doesn't move off of her just yet, wanting to make the closeness last as long as possible.

She isn't in a rush to move, either, instead just enjoying the feeling of coming down, reveling in the way she can feel his heart beating against her chest and the warmth of their bodies together. After she found out who he was, she feels like she spent nearly a year crying almost every day, struggling to figure out how to keep him in her life in a way she could understand. Now, all of it seems so stupid. She feels so stupid, for having nearly turned her back on him, for having wasted so much time trying to find an answer when she had it the whole time.

But at least she doesn't cry much anymore.

Chloe turns her head to kiss his cheek before resting her nose gently against it. "Don't leave me," she whispers, even though she knows he can't promise that. She knows he can never promise her because it would be a lie. That won't stop her from asking, again and again, as if wishing for it could somehow make it true.

He hadn't know what all of those months were like for her, but even if he had known, he couldn't have done anything about it. He had wanted something from her that she didn't know if she could give him, and then someone had come along who could accept for who he was. Or at least who he had been, once. And then he hadn't wanted things to be that way anymore.

He had never stopped wanting it all with Chloe, which is how he'd ended up in his crowded nightclub in a bathrobe. And gone looking for the right thing in the wrong places.

"I don't want to." It's the closest he can get to that promise right now. He won't make a promise he can't keep, no matter how much he wants to. "I would rather be with you than anywhere else."

She often wonders how things would have been different if they hadn't broken up that first time. If he hadn't run away, and they had time to figure things out. On one hand, she feels like they wasted so much time dancing around each other but, on the other hand, she wonders if things were better in the order that they happened. She was forced to accept him before she could be with him and while, for her, it may have been the same process, it wasn't for him. She knows Lucifer would have always just been waiting for her to find out the truth. And, with that, he would have always just been waiting for her to run.

"I never want to leave you, either," she murmurs. Chloe finally shifts under him, readjusting herself to be a little more comfortable but not moving away. "Do you think..." She sighs, her fingers drifting gently down his arm. "Do you think there will ever be a way that you could come back?"

He had wanted her, from the start, to know the truth about him, because if she hadn't then he would always have been wondering if it would have made a difference. If she could have accepted him for who he truly is, which is something he'd come to realize that he wanted.

And it had been torment not knowing if he'd get it from the one person whose acceptance mattered the most.

"I don't know," he admits before adjusting so that he's more next to her than on top of her. He hadn't had time to look in to that aspect of it before he'd returned. He'd only been able to recognize that the prophecy had come true, and he had to do something to keep everyone safe.

"If there is one, I'll find it. I won't stop looking until I do."

She nods, propping her cheek on her hand so she can look at him. It's the best that he can do, and she knows she can't ask any more of him than that. He had to leave her, and as much as it killed her, she understood why.

"I never got the chance to tell you but..." Chloe sighs a little, letting her hand slide up his arm to cup his cheek gently, her thumb passing gently over his skin. "What you did to protect me and Charlie, and Linda and Amenadiel... You're a good person, Lucifer. You know that by now, right?"

He knows what she thinks, and what she's expecting him to say. And even though he wants to forgive himself for things he's done, it's not that easy. Six thousand years of torturing souls is a lot to overcome.

He can't look directly at her now. "You know the things I've done."

She doesn't stop looking away from him, continuing to pet him tenderly. Chloe had hoped for a different answer, but she's not surprised by what he said.

"I do," she says, because he's forgetting all the good he's done, too. But she hasn't. "Do you think I'm a good person?"

"Of course you are." He's never had any doubt of that, or of where she'll end up when she dies (which she will, because she's mortal, he reminds himself). She's one of the best people he knows.

That answer she isn't surprised by, either. She ducks her head slightly, trying to make him look at her. While she isn't quite as convinced as he is that she'll go to Heaven, that isn't really the point.

"If I'm so good, why would I love someone who isn't?"
