I'm worried that if I let myself love you as much as I want to, you'll get bored and leave. And losing you would be like losing my mom all over again. I had no idea who I was anymore when she died and I don't think I know who I am without you. And that sounds so co-dependent and creepy, but you helped fixed a lot of me that I didn't know was broken. So I really hope who I am when I'm with you is enough to make you want to stay.

You're strong. And you remind me of myself and I know what you're worried about. And I promise I'll do everything I can to get him back to you. But if I can't, I hope you don't blame me. And I really hope you don't blame yourself.

Thanks for the granola bars you hid in my purse last week. I wouldn't have eaten all day if it hadn't been for that.

If you hadn't hired me, I wouldn't have any idea what it was like to be a cop without my mom's murder hanging over my head, and I wouldn't know that even without that, being a cop is still what I'm meant to be.

Also, I'm buying the station a new coffee machine. The one we have sucks.

Sometimes I really don't get you. I know you've had it rough and you still managed to not turn out jaded. I always thought I had a lot of respect for people who had been through hard times and came out stronger; but I think I have a little more respect for people like you, the ones who come out not angry. I hope you never lose that.

Take care of her. What you guys have is really, really special. And at the end of the day, it's what really matters.

It took me not having you around to realize how much I really need you around. Oh, and if you still want to be with her, talk to her. Don't let something good get away because you don't want to accept it.

For a really long time, I worried about disappointing you. I worried I wasn't good enough or strong enough to be the person you wanted me to be and do what I needed to do to bring you justice. But he was right, and I don't think you would have wanted me to throw my life away for this. I'm not giving up, not in the least, but I'm trying to move on. You'd really, really like him. And I think you'd be really happy for me. And I think, after a really long time, I'm almost happy, too.
