[Now, Irene likes adventure as much as the next... guy but she's not really sure if being trapped underneath an avalanche of rock on a alien planet with the Doctor is exactly the type of adventure she should have signed up for.

Especially since on the other side of the rock were giant alien robots trying to kill them.]

I don't think now is an entirely inappropriate moment to mention that your idea of diplomacy could use the tiniest bit of work.

[Meanwhile, Eleven is busy sonicing the rock. It's pretty apparent that it isn't going to shift, but you know how he is, he just has to wave his screwdriver at everything.]

I asked nicely. And I certainly didn't hear you making any suggestions!

[This is because the Doctor has what is commonly known as 'selective hearing', or 'not paying any attention to his companions unless he finds it convenient'. Normally it's also because he's too busy talking himself.]

Nobody was shooting at us then, it seemed perfectly hospitable! Interesting, even! [He hits the sonic screwdriver against the palm of his hand a few times, then sighs and tucks it back in his jacket pocket.] I don't suppose you happen to have any explosives with you?

No, Doctor, I'm afraid I left them in my other petticoat. [She starts looking at the rocks for any way out.] Haven't you any other way to get us out? Can you beckon your ship?

You'd think wearing about ten layers of them might be good for something. [Okay, it's the Victorian era, she hasn't got ten layers of petticoats, but the Doctor doesn't excel at women's fashion.] What, like some sort of dog whistle or something? She doesn't do that. Though it would be useful if she could - actually, I had an acquaintance once who had a remote for her TARDIS, but she was...rather more scientifically inclined. [As much as it pains him to admit it.]

[Irene is just going to roll her eyes and keep doing her rock investigating thing. Mostly because she has to do something with her hands and the alternative is punching the Doctor in the face.]

Maybe sometime you could consider asking her nicely to do such a thing. You talk to her often enough.
