And given the fact that she managed to out-maneuver a Ori vessel with a stolen cargo ship should give her a few points, right?]

[Leave it to Jarod to find a way to get her embroiled up in a conspiracy with some wacky FBI agent and put her off his scent. Parker really had no idea what this wackjob had to do with the Centre and her mother's murder but she was getting pretty sick of Jarod's games.

And said FBI agent was going to get the brunt of that, mostly because he was standing in front of her.]

This is a waste of time.

[Beckett hadn't been looking forward to NCIS showing up, even though she knew it was coming. As hard as she tried to be civil and not get wrapped up in jurisdiction disputes, finding out she and her team had been busting their butts while another department had already been investigating frustrated her. Not to mention, she was too invested now to give this one up without a fight.

But she bit her tongue and just extended her hand to the agent in front of her. Gates was giving her the "just shut up and co-operate" look from her office, so decided to do her best.]

Detective Kate Beckett.

[No agent in their right minds enjoyed these disputes, but at least this wasn't the FBI and at least it wasn't Agent Fornell of all people in the FBI in front of her. Small victories? Or something like that, anyway.]

Agent Ziva David. [She shook the detective's hand.] So, what have you all got so far?

[Beckett starts the walk to her desk, pointing at the murder board she and her team have laid out for the case. A couple suspects and a few leads but nothing conclusive and certainly not much that is helpful.]

You can take a look at our case file. My team is out right now following up on a couple of our suspect's stories, but everyone's alibied out. Whoever this guy is, he's good.

[Now, Irene likes adventure as much as the next... guy but she's not really sure if being trapped underneath an avalanche of rock on a alien planet with the Doctor is exactly the type of adventure she should have signed up for.

Especially since on the other side of the rock were giant alien robots trying to kill them.]

I don't think now is an entirely inappropriate moment to mention that your idea of diplomacy could use the tiniest bit of work.

[This is because the Doctor has what is commonly known as 'selective hearing', or 'not paying any attention to his companions unless he finds it convenient'. Normally it's also because he's too busy talking himself.]

I believe my suggestion was voiced as we departed your blue box and I said, 'This place doesn't seem particularly welcoming, perhaps we should consider going elsewhere.'

Nobody was shooting at us then, it seemed perfectly hospitable! Interesting, even! [He hits the sonic screwdriver against the palm of his hand a few times, then sighs and tucks it back in his jacket pocket.] I don't suppose you happen to have any explosives with you?

[ mulder glances at the woman with wry amusement apparent all over his features as he pops a sunflower seed into his mouth ] I take it you don't classify yourself as a "believer".

You're kidding me, right? Listen, I'm not out here for my health. I don't know what kind of soul searching, fuzzy feelings, Kumbayah adventure you and Jarod went on together and I don't really care. Just tell me what he sent me all the way out here for.

Well, it wasn't as if it was deliberate, Daniel. I'm not exactly thrilled about being stranded in Ori territory, either. At least the ship is working...

[Except for that annoying warning alarm, but Vala just slams the console until it stops.]

[El was always a pro at these work parties of Peter's. But this year, it seemed like there were a lot of new faces and, even if she hated to admit it, she hadn't exactly been in a work party mood that day. But he seemed happy enough to chat with his fellow agents and El wasn't keen to stand there with a stupid smile on her face while he talked, but she also wasn't interested in being sequestered to the awkward partner's corner where the non-FBI wives and husbands seemed to have gravitated towards.

So instead, she just wandered over to try some punch and muttered to herself.]

Maybe I'll luck out and it's spiked.

[Emily wasn't even planning on attending, given how direly she hated politics of any kind including office politics, but then Hotch had so very politely reminded them all that the invitation wasn't entirely optional. And so, as she looked around the room for familiar faces as she headed to get herself a drink.]

We couldn't get so lucky.
