[ it's late. everyone's asleep, or so helena thinks. she's in the kitchen, trying the ice cream. new secret pleasure ]

[Myka may have had the same late night thought, since ice cream was her new favorite thing and she was pretty sure Pete has stashed away a certain container in the freezer somewhere just for her.

The thought she didn't have, though, was that Helena would be down there digging through said carton of ice cream. Myka smirked, coming into the kitchen and leaning against the counter.]

You've been hanging out with Pete too much.

[ There's a small (but obvious enough) jump that may tell Myka that she'd startled the woman. Add the slightly 'embarrassed to be caught' tone that ebbs into Helena's voice and the scene is set. Helena obviously hadn't expected to be found down here, certainly not whilst she was working her way through the ice cream, anyway. (She couldn't help it) ]

[Myka can't help but smirk at Helena's reaction. She isn't the type to be caught off guard, and Myka wonders if she was hoping to be left alone. Myka takes a step forward, figuring she'll gauge the situation and then excuse herself if it looks like Helena isn't in the mood for company.]

Yeah, still a little wired from today. You... okay?

[ There's a small noise of affirmation, as Helena might have snuck another small spoonful of the ice cream into her mouth as Myka approached. She needs the carton taking away from her, really, but after this spoonful Helena lowers the spoon, letting it dangle in her fingers ]

I wouldn't say wired, just a little sleepless. [ Maybe it was being wired - she did have a few things on her mind, but when didn't she ] I hadn't expected anyone else to be awake, actually. [ She wouldn't have been in the kitchen with the ice cream if she'd known ]

[Myka watches her ice cream disappear, her mouth curved up in an amused smile. But now she definitely feels like she's intruding and she takes a step back, gesturing at the door.]

It's fine, I'll leave you alone.

That seems a little senseless. [ Helena's eyes briefly glance down at the ice cream tub on the table before she offers the spoon to Helena ]

We're both already awake, and I do believe that this is yours. [ So maybe she'd known that already before tucking in, and maybe that was why she had. It was Myka, and she was less likely to be mad at her for doing it to her ice cream ]

[Myka moves across the room. Once she accepts the spoon and scoops out some of the ice cream, sticking it in her mouth and smiling at Helena as she licks the ice cream off, satisfied because let's be real, she's practically french kissing her by proxy the ice cream is delicious.]

You're welcome to it any time. Before I started working here I never even ate this stuff.

I hadn't had any before this myself.

[ It was a strange phenomena - the taste, the fact of what it was, and, even more so, how much she seemed to enjoy it. It was incredibly sweet, incredibly unusual, and she was enjoying it ]

Part of me is hoping that I won't again.

It's not bad... I mean, it's kind of a pick-me-up, I guess. Especially after a stressful day.

[She scoops another spoonful out and licks it thoughtfully.]
